WAHM Hosting’s First Promotional Video

We’ve been having some fun with our promotional materials lately and we knew it was time (past time, really) to get ourselves a video.



Our decision to have an animated video created was really just based on the fact that we love watching them. We continually tell people to create marketing materials based on your target audience and not on your own personal likes. However, we broke the rules with this one because we just wanted to have fun with it.

We were so excited throughout the video creation process and are ecstatic about the results. Of course, we are a bit biased about it and we are curious to know what you think. Leave us a quick note to let us know your opinion.

.com Price Increases Again

January 5th, 2012

.com Prices are going up again. This price is across the board for everyone in the world as ICANN and VeriSign has increased the rate for all domain resellers. The prices will go up to $11.50 for our hosting clients and $10.50 for our domain resellers. We are sorry about how this may effect you, so we urge you to get your .com domain orders in before January 15 when the prices go up. Now is the best time to renew domains or add a few more years onto it.

We do recommend adding more years (up to 10) onto your .com domain as the contract between ICANN and VeriSign have an agreement that allows them to increase .com prices up to 10% each year.

WordPress 3.3 Released: Update Now

WordPress has officially released verion 3.3 today. There are a ton of new features in this update. Our favorites are:

  • Drag and Drop Uploader
  • Widget Improvements

Updating WordPress is usually as simple as hitting the Update button in your admin. However, if you feel you need help updating or installing WordPress, please let us know.

WAHM Hosting Number 1 on Google Again!

WAHM Hosting on GoogleFinally! After a long awaited Google re-ranking, we’ve made it back to the top on Google.

We had expected the drop in our Google ranking when we had first heard of the recent Google Panda update. One of our competitors had been using our ideas, descriptions, and meta information for quite some time and the update had the ability to seek and destroy duplicated sites. This was, in part, why we worked so hard on getting our latest redesign launched so quickly.

On November 6, only 2 weeks after the announcement of our new design, Google came crawling over and took notice. With the new layout, we had also changed everything that had been duplicated and Google moved us right back into our original spot.

Online Store Cart Upgrade – version 3.1

The Online Store Cart developers have released an upgrade. This upgrade is version 3.1.

What’s New In This Upgrade?

  • Better Coupons – The old system of coupons has been replaced with a much better one!
    • The fixed price coupon bug is solved.
    • Stats help you track which coupons are used most.
  • Gift Certificates – Sell gift certificates for your store!
  • More Product Options, Templates, Layouts
    • You now have the ability to not only create attributes for your products, but to let your customer create their own through forms!
    • You may now save templates for your attributes so that you can apply the same ones to other products.
    • The layout of adding attributes has changed to an easier to use form.

FAQ:

  1. How can I tell what version I have?
    • From your admin page. Go to the back-end of your store (you should have renamed this from the default admin) and look at the links on the bottom of the page. It should say something similar to:
      Version 3

  2. Do I need to upgrade?
    1. This particular upgrade is optional as there haven’t been any major security patches for this release.
    2. However, if you still have a site using anything below version 3, you should upgrade to prevent attacks on your website.
  3. How do I upgrade?
    1. You can do it yourself by downloading the files and instructions here: UPGRADE ONLY: Online Store Cart 3.1
    2. You can choose to have us do it by ordering it on our Product Addons page. Select the option that says Shopping Cart Upgrade
    3. Note, you must be logged in to see these options.

Exciting New Feature – Project Management

August 17th, 2011

We’ve added a new feature to our client area for Project Management. When you log into our website, you will see a new link called My Projects in the Client Menu. You can use this new area to add the Projects and Tasks you want us to complete on your website. Our backend has a few goodies like timers, note sections, flags for employees, etc. Plus, we can send the project directly to an invoice when it is complete. On your end, you will see updates, completion status bars, and more.
