How do I setup a product to receive information from a customer? I have a few products that can be customized and I want to put a text box with that product so the customer has enter their text they want on that item. How do I do this?

What cart version do you have? It will say the version at the bottom of your store admin.

That type of things is not installed in version 3. If you search the add-on page on the oscommerce website, you can find a few things that you can install to help you do this.
